The Cafe at Tesco Extra, Sandhurst who were very helpful when there were no gluten-free options left Farriers Restaurant, Cox Green, Maidenhead (01628 777428) 'The owner is the chef, who is very welcoming of coeliacs. Keeps stocks of rice and potato flour and adjusts sauces accordingly. Friendly atmosphere and fresh food' Blubeckers, Hare Hatch (0118 9403136) - 'The food is lovely and always freshly cooked. I am always made to feel comfortable, it's never any trouble to ask what's OK to eat, and someone on the staff is coeliac.' The Crown at Playhatch (01189 472872) - happy to meet the needs of coeliacs Holme Grange Tea Shop, Wokingham (01189 795125)- 'It's great to look at the chalk board and see gluten-free options up there - this tea shop makes its own gluten-free cakes'. Kathmandu Kitchen, Whitley, Reading (0118 9864000). 'Curries are good for coeliacs because so little wheat flour is used, for example this restaurant always uses gram flour for onion bhajis. Lovely place to go with a great atmosphere'. The Fox and Hounds, Christmas Common (01491 612599) 'The chef was really happy to make sure that everything was fine for me, and the food is delicious!' |
